Spinal Decompression for Herniated and Bulging Discs

Bulging or herniated discs can cause major pain that affects your everyday life; however, it doesn’t have to be that way. Dr. Doug Forsstrom of Forsstrom Chiropractic Center in Centennial, CO works with his patients to relieve bulging or herniated discs through spinal decompression.

Spinal decompression is a treatment that relieves the pressure caused by herniated or bulging discs. Our computer system controls the treatment which is created and supervised by Dr. Forsstrom for safety. The spine is stretched and relaxed in very precise movements that create a vacuum-like effect. The vertebrae are slowly separated so that the pressure is released and the soft, bulging material back into the disc. Treatment is usually about twenty minutes long, three times per week, for eight weeks.

Herniated and bulging discs usually cause pain because they are pressing up against spinal nerves. The nerves can carry that pain throughout the body. Relieving the bulging material on the nerves greatly reduces this pain.
